Report: Russia to cut non-priority spending of defense industry
MOSCOW, Jan 29 (PRIME) -- Russia will cut spending on non-priority projects in the defense industry, Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin said in an interview with Rossiya 24 television channel broadcast Friday.
“A series of meetings that was held by the government with our industrial block, including Roscosmos and Rosatom, showed us that we will cut certain spending, but will cut only secondary costs, not priority ones,” he said.
Russia’s defense industry will launch a new program to support domestic healthcare sector, as “a lot of medical equipment that we are buying abroad today may be produced by our companies,” he added.
